Can I add music to a Photocrati Gallery or any Page?
The answer is, YES. We’ve made adding music to any page very easy and intuitive.
To add an .mp3 to your gallery page, blog post, or even the blog page and category/archives…
Page/Blog Post:
1) Go to your page/post edit
2) Immediately to the right side of the screen will be a box titled ‘Add Music To The Page’ (post, if adding to blog post). Select your desired settings, and click ‘Upload mp3’ and select file from your computer
3) When the file has completed uploading, grab the URL to the file
4) Paste the URL in the textbox next to the ‘upload mp3’ button
5) Publish / Update page or post and you’re done! 🙂
Blog Page and Category/Archives Page:
1) Go to Theme Options > Customize Theme > Global > scroll down to ‘Blog & Category Music’
2) Select your desired settings
3) Click ‘upload .mp3’ and select file from your computer
4) After the file has completed uploading, grab the URL to the file
5) Paste the URL in the textbox next to the ‘upload .mp3’ button
6) Click ‘Save Music Settings’
You’re Done! 🙂

2 Aug 2010I tried to follow these steps to add music to a page and it does not work.
Some people would like to have music auto start to their gallery or other page that doesn’t include a slideshow that has music already. To do this, open up your page to edit, click the ‘HTML’ tab and insert the following code:
Insert the URL to your music file where directed and ‘update’ your page and you should see results like this: click here .
where do I put the URL to my music? in a custom field? This is just not very clear to me. can you guide me on how to do this. I have my music on my word press already and when I follow this guide lines. I just don’t see anything on my page anymore. can you be more specific as to where to put the music file? it only say insert the url music as directed, where is that?

2 Aug 2010Pablo,
You would add the URL to your music file where it says “URL://music-file” . So instead of “URL://music-file” it would be something like “http://www.yourdomain.com/wp-content/uploads/musicfile.mp3”
Let me know if you have any further questions, I’m happy to help. 🙂

11 Aug 2010@serranoimage : I am assuming you entered the code directly into a .php file. Instead, go in the backend of wordpress and choose a page/post and insert that code in the HTML editor. Not directly in a template file.

12 Aug 2010serranoimage,
that’s how you are supposed to do it. I was confused by the
.The editor I was mentioning is the VISUAL || HTML which you got to.
Now, make sure you close the embed tag as follows
if it still doesn’t work, email me support at photocarati.com the whole code so I have a look at it.

25 Aug 2010@Pablo – we emailed you back early yesterday morning – but have yet to hear from you. I’m happy to hear that you got everything to work, please let us know if you have any further questions. We’re happy to help! 🙂
@DoubleM… & @studiobylala – make sure your “URL://music-file” is completely replaced with a full URL like: “http://www.yourdomain.com/wp-content/uploads/yourmusicfile.mp3”
If inserted in HTML view and then save changes- it should work.

8 Sep 2010That is a feature of flash, which has yet to be converted to work well in any other format. For now, you may link a single .mp3 per page as described above. 🙂

1 Dec 2010This is from what I gathered how you do it. I am trying to do this from a cd and then save the burned song in my library and under music. Am I going about this all the wrong way. I dont understand the mp3 thing since I dont have one (yes, really,,,, I dont own one).
Thanks Mike

1 Dec 2010Mike, Sounds like you need to convert your sound files to mp3’s. Music files on CDs are in a different format called .aif and need to be converted to mp3’s before they will work with an mp3 player on a website. Depending on if you’re on Windows or a Mac, look into a sound editor for your PC or Mac that can convert sound file formats.
